Obama’s Malpractice

Why the health-care bill isn’t reform.

Published Nov 14, 2009
From the magazine issue dated Nov 23, 2009

Robert J. Samuelson

There is an air of absurdity to what is mistakenly called “health-care reform.” Everyone knows that the United States faces massive governmental budget deficits as far as calculators can project, driven heavily by an aging population and uncontrolled health costs. [Read More →]

Devaluing the Dollar by Trashing Private Health Care

By Eric Singer
The main driver of the collapse of the dollar is the liquidity provided by the Fed at nominal interest rates, which invites a worldwide army of investors to short the dollar and buy foreign stocks and bonds. If the dollar continues to fall in value, these investors are effectively paid to borrow as long [Read More →]

A Warning on Government Health Care From Peter Bocking

Clarice Feldman
For many years Peter Bocking  known online to most as PeterUK or PUK charmed the denizens of Tom Maguire’s blog, Just One Minute, with his wit and intelligence. He died quite recently and for the first time many learned he had been an early, extremely talented part of the Liverpool/Manchester music scene and later [Read More →]

Broadcast debate

This forum  has been interesting, but we have limited reach.  Would the contributors to this blog be willing to participate in a health care debate sponsored by the Zepher the RM or WGIL?  This might be a way to reach a larger audience.  I feel like you are preaching to the choir and I am singing a solo.

Dems exploit infant deaths to sell ObamaCare

By William Tate — AmericanThinker.com

There are lies, there are damned lies, and there are the statistics that Democrats have ginned up to try to sell ObamaCare. The most recent example comes from statistics, bandied about by their media mouthpieces this week, purporting that infant mortality rates in the U.S. are proof that the healthcare system [Read More →]

The “Costs” of Medical Care: Part IV

Thomas Sowell –Creators Syndicate
Friday, November 06, 2009
What is so wrong with the current medical system in the United States that we are being urged to rush headlong into a new government system that we are not even supposed to understand, because this legislation is to be rushed through Congress before even the Senators and Representatives have a chance [Read More →]

Republican Victory in Virginia and New Jersey

Do the results of these elections have any effect on the chances of passing the current house or senate bills?  We all know what we are hearing in the media.  I wondered what this group thought.  Let me know.

Medicare Advantage does not cherry pick

MedicareAdvantageEnrollmentForm
I have attached a standard MA enrollment form.  Their are no health questions asked except the end stage dialysis.  I believe this is because the treatment is covered by Medicaid.
So why are private insurers willing to accept all Medicare beneficiaries without cherry picking while enhancing benefits and reducing premium?  Medicare Advantage can deliver a higher level of care [Read More →]

Health insurance is too cheap and covers too much. Really.

… Let me translate: just the losses of this one scam shows that a government run health program could not possibly be as efficient as the private health insurance industry. Private enterprise would never let that happen because they could not afford to. In this one scam, the government was losing about 10% of the Medicare gross. Oops. There goes that 2 per cent profit model — and then some.
